In December 2018, End of Summer was invited to invited to give a talk in Sapporo by S-AIR, a nonprofit arts organization and one of the longest running artist residency programs in Japan, founded in 1999. End of Summer’s Program Assistant, Midori Hirose, presented an overview of the program’s history, and its satellite projects and exhibitions. The talk was held on December 22nd 2018 at Terrace Kikaku, a multipurpose art and culture center in downtown Hokkaido.
While in Sapporo, Midori Hirose also conducted an artist portfolio review event on December 17th 2018 at Naebono Art Studio, a local artist run space. Artists and students were invited to meet with Hirose one on one to share their work for an afternoon of discussion and critique.
